Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center and Black Hills Neurosurgery & Spine, two leading spine practices in the four-state region, have joined to form The Spine Center at Black Hills Orthopedics. This transaction, which occurred on September 1, 2020, combined the two clinics to form a 20-doctor specialty orthopedic and spine practice. The Spine Center includes 5 spine surgeons and a neurologist, with an extensive, expertly trained staff that will serve patients' comprehensive spine care needs. The Spine Center surgeons perform most of their surgeries at Black Hills Surgical Hospital, a nationally recognized top 1% hospital in orthopedic and spine care and recently anointed as a Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Distinction Center+ and a Cigna Center of Excellence.
By calling (605) 341-1414, patients can schedule an appointment at the Spine Center, located at 4141 5th St. The Spine Center surgeons are also available in Gillette, Wyoming, Williston and Dickinson, North Dakota.
Through the combination of the clinics, Black Hills Orthopedic & Spine Center is creating a regional Spine Center of Excellence with dedicated, comprehensive orthopedic spine and neurosurgical spine care from fellowship-trained spine surgeons Dr. Christian Gaffney and Dr. Robert Woodruff. The merger also combines ProMotion Physical Therapy with Black Hills Orthopedics Physical Therapy, so patients now have access to more therapy options throughout Rapid City with locations in Baken Park at 741 Mountain View Road, Suite A-2, as well as at 4141 Fifth St.
